RESTORING DIGNITY: A COMMITMENT TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

The Religions for Peace Executive Committee recognizes that violence against women is a direct assault on peace that is central to each of our respective religious traditions. No one should ever have to endure any act that robs them of the right to live healthy and fulfilling lives. All women and men of faith should work to uphold the dignity of women and girls. Religions for Peace commits to prevent acts of violence against women so that this terrible crime may be eliminated and to mobilize the compassion and strength of religious communities as an essential part of healing and caring for survivors. Eliminating violence against women is a religious duty.  Doing so will also nourish all of us for healthier and more fulfilling lives. View the Religions for Peace Statement
